Dave Rigby was born, raised
and continues to be educated in his native Salford. Having
completed an HND in Professional Sound and Video Technology
in 2001, Dave spent a year working in the radio industry as
a Commercial Producer before returning to the University of
Salford in 2002 to complete a BA in Television and Radio
Production.
Whilst on the course, Dave
worked as a Producer for Channel M Televisions culture show
Interference.
Following graduation Dave launched Insite Media Ltd, a
small media production company who specialized in the
presentation and promotion of sites of cultural and
architectural significance.
Dave left the company in late 2005 to take the role of
Production Coordinator on the MA Television Documentary and
MA Fiction Film Production Courses at the
University of
Salford.
Dave has written and produced
several short films including More Haste, Less Speed, which
was nominated for best student short at the 2004 Salford
Film Festival. His most recent film How To Be Better was
completed in Mid 2005.
In September 2006 Dave
intends to develop his primary interest by undertaking an
MA in Screenwriting also at the University of Salford.
Aside from film making Dave is an avid music fan. Moving
away from the more traditional orchestral music, which saw
him tour Europe as a youngster, Dave has spent the last 6
years Djing at many of Manchester’s top bars and
nightclubs.
